Eric García's contract belongs to Barcelona, but during his one-year loan at Girona, he played a crucial role in the team's historic achievement of winning the La Liga bronze medals and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

However, the loan is set to end after this season, and García is prepared to return to Barcelona. The agreement between the clubs does not include an option to buy, but Girona is still keen to retain the defender.

This season, García has played 32 matches for Girona, the highest number in his career, surpassing his playing time at both Barcelona and Manchester City. His contract with Barcelona runs until 2026, and the Catalan club values him at approximately €15-20 million, assuming they decide to sell him.

The change in Barcelona's management may delay any decisions regarding player acquisitions or sales, but Eric García could be one of the players Barcelona might sell to improve their financial situation. Regardless, García is expected to return to Barcelona at the end of the season, a fact he confirmed in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

“I have always said it. I have a contract with Barcelona. I will return there, and then we'll see what happens”.

Garcia does not discount the possible option of changing the club, and if Barcelona wants to sell him, candidates may appear for him. But so far no such information has been received.
