Ukraine national team suffered its record defeat in the group stages of the Euros

Today, the Ukrainian national team unexpectedly lost 0-3 to Romania in the opening match of Group E at Euro 2024.
This defeat marks the heaviest loss for the yellow-blues in their history at the group stages of the European Championships. Ukraine is participating in the Euros for the fourth time, and previously, they had never lost by more than a 0-2 margin in the group stage, with defeats against France in 2012, and Germany and Northern Ireland in 2016.
However, Ukraine's most significant defeat at the European Championships came in the quarter-finals of Euro 2020, where they lost 0-4 to England.
Romania, on the other hand, secured their first victory at the European Championships in 24 years.
In the second round of Euro 2024, Ukraine will face Slovakia. The match will take place on Friday, June 21st.
