The first round of the UEFA Euro 2024 group stage in Group D will end on 17 June with a match between Austria and France.

In this quartet, the first match took place yesterday, in which the Netherlands beat Poland 2-1. Therefore, both Austria and France are hungry for a win today to keep up with the Dutch and break into the leading zone.

Both Ralph Rangnick and Didier Deschamps have some personnel problems for this match. If we talk about the Austrian team, it should be noted that defender Gernot Trauner missed training on Friday, although this is most likely a precautionary measure. Right-back Stefan Posch has recovered and it is he who can start the game in the starting line-up.

As for the French team, we note Kingsley Coman's illness at the beginning of the week, but he should be ready for the match against Austria, as well as Killian Mbappe, who suffered a knee injury in the friendly match against Luxembourg.

Olieren Chouameni, who is still recovering from a foot injury, is yet to make a full recovery and although he is almost back to full fitness, Deschamps is not expected to risk the recent Champions League triumphant.

The centre-back could be played by returning World Cup hero N'Golo Kante, who was a surprise inclusion in the squad after a successful first year at Al Ittihad and is ready to beat Warren Zaire-Emery and Eduardo Kamawinga in the battle for a place in the starting line-up.

Further Arsenal player William Saliba could have been left out despite his superb season in the Premier League, but now Deschamps has apparently changed his mind and will send Ibrahima Konate to the bench instead.
