In the UEFA Euro 2024 Group Stage match, Spain dealt with Croatia. The match ended with a score of 3-0, with goals from Morata, Fabian Ruiz, and Carvajal for "La Roja."

Aside from the goals scored, there was a very interesting episode in the match. In the 80th minute, Croatia had a chance to score one goal when a penalty was awarded after Rodri fouled in Spain's penalty area. From the penalty spot, Bruno Petković failed to beat Unai Simón. Ivan Perišić was the first to react to the rebound, passing to Petković who then sent the ball into the net.

However, the Croatian players' celebrations were short-lived. Replays showed that Perišić was one of three Croatia players who gained an unfair advantage over Spain's defenders by encroaching into the penalty area before Petković took his unsuccessful penalty kick.

After consulting the video assistant referee, match referee Michael Oliver disallowed this goal.
