Emerse Faé savours Ivory Coast’s achievement at the 2026 World Cup
The Ivorian national team has qualified for the round of 32 of the competition for the first time in its history.
Ivory Coast continues to write some of the finest chapters in its history on the international stage. On Thursday 25 June, the Elephants secured their place in the knockout stages of the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This marks a first in the country’s history of the tournament. It is a feat that Emerse Faé, manager of the Ivory Coast Elephants, is delighted with.
“Pride is the first thing that springs to mind. We knew we could do it. We’ve done it; we’ve finished second we didn’t want to have to go through the third-place. We’re delighted. Now we’re going to have a good rest and prepare properly for the round of 32. Ivory Coast can celebrate, and the Ivorian people can support us even more so that we can go as far as possible.”
