Ivory Coast impresses under Emerse Fae
The former Ivorian international is establishing himself as one of the most influential managers in the history of Ivorian football.
Appointed under unusual circumstances during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in 2024 in Ivory Coast, Emerse Fae has delivered a string of top-class performances and continues to make history with the Ivorian national team. He led the Elephants to victory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final after a difficult run in the group stage.
Emerse Fae then secured Ivory Coast’s qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. During the continental tournament, he guided the Elephants to the quarter-finals.
But now, Fae has reached a new milestone by qualifying the Ivorian team for the knockout stages of the 2026 World Cup. This is a first in the history of Ivory Coast.
