Bayern Munich's central defender Matthijs de Ligt is ready to change clubs during this summer's transfer window. The main contender for the player is Manchester United.

Journalist Christopher Michael reported that the Dutch footballer is willing to take a pay cut to make the move. Currently, De Ligt earns about 15 million euros at Bayern Munich, while Manchester United is prepared to offer him less than 12 million. Despite this, Matthijs is still keen on the transfer.

The primary reasons for Bayern selling the player are a lack of pace and injuries. Additionally, Bayern's new coach Vincent Kompany relies on different attributes for the central defender position.

Bayern has already set a price for the Dutchman. The Red Devils have already contacted the player's representatives. However, no constructive dialogue has taken place, as De Ligt has requested not to start negotiations yet. The Dutchman is currently focused on his performances at the European Championship.
