Cristiano Ronaldo continues to break records in Saudi football. The Al-Nassr forward scored his first goal after turning 40 in a 3-0 win over Al-Fayha in the 19th round of the Saudi Pro League.
With this goal, Ronaldo became the third-oldest player to score in the league’s history, behind Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El Hadary and Saudi legend Hussein Abdulghani.
El Hadary remains the oldest goalscorer at 44 years, 10 months, and 25 days, after netting a penalty for Al-Taawoun in 2017. Abdulghani follows in second place, having scored at 41 years, 9 months, and 18 days in 2018.
The legendary Egyptian posted "Forget it" with a laughing emoji on social media in a hilarious response to Ronaldo's accomplishment, reminding followers that his record has not been surpassed.
With 16 goals this season, Ronaldo is now in first place on the league's top scorer leaderboard. As Al-Nassr gets ready for a crucial league game against Al-Ahli on February 13, he hopes to maintain his strong play.
