The South African side rounded off the group stage with a convincing 3-0 victory over FUS Rabat on Saturday 7 November.

The match, however, began at a rather cautious pace, with both teams showing little initiative in the opening minutes. It wasn’t until the 25th minute that the deadlock was broken.

Bambanani Mbane found the back of the net to give the South Africans the lead. The goal allowed Mamelodi Sundowns to go into the break with a narrow lead (1-0).

The match remained tense after the break, before Mamelodi Sundowns made the difference late on. Nthabiseng Majiya doubled the lead in the 82nd minute, before Karabo Dhlamini sealed the victory for her side in added time.

With this victory, Mamelodi Sundowns finished top of Group A with a record of two wins and one draw. The South African side thus completed this first phase without defeat and continue their campaign by qualifying for the semi-finals.
