Atalanta has reached an agreement with head coach Gian Piero Gasperini to extend his contract.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Gasperini will extend his contract with "La Dea" until 2026, with an option for 2027. His salary will be 5 million euros per year.

The coach received three significant offers (from Napoli and two unnamed foreign clubs), but he declined them and chose to remain in Bergamo.

On Wednesday, May 22, Atalanta won a European trophy for the first time in its history. In the Europa League final, "La Dea" defeated Bayer Leverkusen (3-0), ending the German side's record unbeaten streak. Gasperini was the main architect of this historic achievement for the club.

After 37 rounds, Atalanta sits in fourth place in the Serie A table with 69 points. The team has already secured participation in the Champions League for the next season through their league performance, and their victory over Bayer confirmed this right.
