Challenging weather conditions in the United States are forcing special measures to ensure players’ safety and comfort.

Details: Today it was officially announced that FIFA has decided to implement two additional three-minute breaks during matches at the upcoming World Cup.

These breaks are intended to help players restore their water and electrolyte balance. The breaks will be mandatory for all matches, regardless of weather conditions or venue.

The 2026 World Cup will take place next summer across three countries: the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The opening match will be held on June 11 next year, featuring tournament co-hosts Mexico facing South Africa.

Previously, FIFA faced criticism for approving the United States as a host nation due to its challenging weather, which could seriously impact player comfort and health.

Reminder: The World Cup match between Egypt and Iran in Seattle will be dedicated to LGBTQ unity...
