A successor for the Parisian captain: PSG targets young Lens defender

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring the progress of 21-year-old RC Lens centre-back Ismaëlo Ganiou as they look to overhaul their defensive line.

Details: According to football insider Ekrem Konur, the French champions' scouting department has added the young defender to its shortlist of priority candidates for regular monitoring. The Parisian powerhouse's interest is directly driven by the search for a potential long-term successor to the team's long-serving Brazilian captain, Marquinhos.

In Paris, Ganiou's impressive physical attributes, discipline and tactical intelligence are highly valued. The red-and-blues intend to get ahead of their European rivals by steadily laying the groundwork for future negotiations with the blood-and-gold club's executives.

It is worth noting that Ismaëlo Ganiou is a product of the RC Lens academy, having risen from the youth ranks to the first-team squad. His reliability in aerial duels, tenacity in challenges and composure with his first pass have established the young defender as one of the most promising defensive players in France's Ligue 1.
