Venezuela Women Break Into FIFA Top 50 for the First Time

Venezuela’s women’s national team has entered the FIFA Top 50 for the first time, reaching 48th place in the latest rankings released on Thursday. The squad, coached by Brazilian Ricardo Belli, climbed three spots and now holds 1,500.56 points — the highest total in the team’s history.
According to El Nacional, this achievement comes as La Vinotinto prepares for the upcoming 2025 Copa América. In recent friendlies against New Zealand, Venezuela registered one win and one loss while fielding a mix of experienced players and U17 prospects.
The global ranking remains led by the United States, with Spain, Germany, Brazil and England completing the top five. Within South America, Colombia (18th), Argentina (32nd) and Chile (39th) also rank ahead of Venezuela. FIFA will publish its next update on August 7 following the conclusion of the continental tournament.
