In the upcoming season, players from the top teams are poised to partake in a staggering 86 matches. This is all tied to the alteration in the Champions League format, rendering it more expansive, along with FIFA's new summer club tournament involving 32 teams.

The Professional Football Association is apprehensive that the well-being of their members will suffer, as FIFA has yet to meet the requirement for a mandated 28-day mid-season break.

Maheta Molango, the executive director of the players' union, criticized the potential course of events, stating:

"We've reached a point where people are ready to litigate to resolve this issue.

It's a disgrace for football when players must resort to legal action because they don't feel protected. It's profoundly disheartening.

We aspire to witness the finest players performing at their peak, but with the impending schedule, it's physically and humanly impossible."

Concerns are escalating in light of FIFA's new Club World Championship scheduled from 2025, with 32 teams participating, including at least Manchester City and Chelsea from England, while other Premier League teams will be on vacation.

The subsequent season will culminate in the World Cup, featuring 48 nations for the first time. Richard Masters, the executive director of the Premier League, scribed a protest letter to FIFA regarding the new iteration of the Club World Championship.

When asked whether football authorities risk ruining the beautiful game, Molango responded to Sky News:

"Yes, indeed. But presently, players are ready to adopt a firm stance."
