The 74th annual FIFA Congress took place in Bangkok, where various football-related issues were discussed. One of the key decisions was announcing Brazil as the host of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Additionally, according to FIFA's official website, an important step in combating racial discrimination in football was introduced. A special gesture has been implemented, allowing players to report instances of racism directly during a match. Now, if an athlete becomes a victim of racism, they should cross their arms to signal the main referee to stop the game and penalize the offenders. If this gesture is used three times in a single match, the referee will be required to stop the game.

FIFA plans to mandate that all national associations under its umbrella implement these new rules and will also require participating countries to recognize racism as a criminal offense at the national level.
