Manchester United has taken a firm stance and is not planning to enter negotiations with Barcelona over a new loan deal for striker Marcus Rashford. The Catalan club had previously allowed the €30 million buyout option for the 28-year-old England international to expire. While the Blaugrana executives were open to discussing another temporary arrangement and extending the forward's loan for another season, such a scenario is now completely off the table for United's management.
Details: According to Transfer News Live, citing ESPN, Manchester United is insisting solely on a permanent transfer and is no longer willing to consider another loan spell for Rashford.
The English giants have already started working with football intermediaries and agents to scout potential buyers and collect official offers for Rashford from other clubs. It seems Old Trafford is set to bid farewell to their academy product, aiming to free up the wage bill and secure funds for the summer transfer campaign.
This season, the English winger has made 49 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the player at €49 million.
Reminder: Borussia Dortmund has set a €120 million price tag for Felix Nmecha, who is also a target for Manchester United.
