A new striker for Old Trafford! Manchester United eye Brazil national team goal machine
Manchester United are laying the groundwork for another high-profile attacking reinforcement.
Details: According to insider Ben Jacobs, Manchester United’s management have discussed a potential summer transfer for Brentford striker Igor Thiago. The Red Devils’ representatives have already reached out to the Brazilian forward’s entourage to gauge his stance and the terms of a possible deal. Talks are still at an early stage.
Manchester United’s current transfer priorities remain a central midfielder and a left-back. That’s why the club hasn’t yet moved into an active phase of negotiations for the forward.
The deal for Igor Thiago could also directly depend on the future of Joshua Zirkzee. If the Dutchman leaves, the Red Devils would have an extra spot in their attacking line and could accelerate their pursuit of the Brazilian striker.
It’s worth noting that in the 2025/26 season, Igor Thiago featured in 40 matches across all competitions, scoring 25 goals and providing one assist. In the Premier League, the striker found the net 22 times.
Reminder: Departure inevitable. Manchester United forward on the verge of joining another club.
