The legend will still play. Kevin Durant talks about participating in the next Olympic Games

Yesterday, the final of the basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games took place, with the United States securing their fifth consecutive gold medal.
This victory also marked a historic achievement for the legendary Kevin Durant, who surpassed Carmelo Anthony to become the most decorated basketball player in Olympic history, winning his record-breaking fourth gold medal.
However, Durant isn't done yet. After the game, he left open the possibility of competing in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
After the final, Durant stated:
"Records are meant to be broken. My goal has always been to represent my country, my state, my street, my family name, and to help elevate the game. Since I've been here, that's what I've been doing. We've built on the legacy of the 1992 Dream Team, and I'm proud we've kept that alive," as reported by Basket News.
He then added:
"As for Los Angeles, who knows, man? We'll see."
It’s worth noting that Durant will be 39 years old when the Los Angeles Games begin, turning 40 shortly after the competition. But these numbers don't seem to daunt him, considering that his fellow American and equally legendary LeBron James was 39 at the Paris Games and will turn 40 in December.
Durant has competed in every Olympic Games since 2012, winning gold in London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, Tokyo 2020, and now Paris.
“It was an incredible game and an amazing time in Paris and Lille. There was so much support for basketball. I'm grateful I got to see Steph [Curry], who delivered an outstanding performance. For me, it was an exceptional experience to watch him hit nine three-pointers in the last game [in the semifinals against Serbia] and eight three-pointers in this one [in the final against France].”, he said finally.
