Mourinho began his managerial career in 2000 by taking charge of Benfica, where he remained until 2001. Over his illustrious journey, Mourinho has also coached clubs such as Leiria, Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Roma, Tottenham, and Fenerbahçe.
In total, Mourinho has managed 1,214 matches as a head coach up to this point. His record stands at 750 wins, 246 draws, and 218 defeats. This September, Mourinho returned to Benfica for a second stint at the helm.
The players warmly congratulated their coach after the cup match, presenting him with a club jersey bearing the number 750.
José Mourinho himself commented on this milestone as follows:
“750 wins. Which one is the most important? The first? Benfica — Belenenses? Champions League, Porto — Monaco? The second Champions League final, Inter — Bayern? Tonight’s Farense — Benfica?......NO! The next one!!!! 751!!!! Let’s work for the next one!”
