The future of Nuno Espírito Santo at West Ham is under serious threat following a humiliating 0-3 defeat to Wolverhampton, and now the Hammers' management are considering a change at the helm.
Details: According to talkSPORT, former West Ham head coach Slaven Bilić is ready to return to the club if the board decides to make another managerial switch.
It is reported that club owner David Sullivan had already harbored doubts about appointing Nuno, who replaced Graham Potter. Sullivan considered bringing Bilić back, but was ultimately persuaded by the board of directors to go with the Portuguese specialist. Michael Carrick, who has previously been on the club’s shortlist, is also among the potential candidates for the head coach position.
Interestingly, the Croatian’s last managerial role was with Saudi side Al-Fateh, which he left in August 2024. He has not coached since.
It’s worth noting that at the moment, West Ham are winless in nine consecutive Premier League matches and sit in the relegation zone, occupying 18th place. After the defeat to Wolverhampton, the gap from safety stands at four points.
Reminder: Wolverhampton claimed their first Premier League win in 252 days against West Ham.
