Official! It has been revealed whether Verstappen will stay at Red Bull
Max Verstappen has finally put an end to months of speculation surrounding his Formula One future.
Details: Oracle Red Bull Racing have officially confirmed that the Dutch driver has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2030 Formula One season. Verstappen’s previous agreement was due to expire at the end of 2028, meaning the new deal adds another two years to one of the most successful partnerships in modern F1.
The announcement brings an end to persistent rumours about Verstappen potentially leaving Red Bull. Despite being under contract through 2028, the four-time world champion had repeatedly been linked with rival teams as Red Bull struggled to match the leading cars during the 2026 campaign.
Team principal Laurent Mekies described the extension as a major sign of mutual trust and ambition. Verstappen, meanwhile, stressed that Red Bull feels like a second family to him and that his main objective remains helping the team return to the top and fight for more victories and championships.
The timing is also symbolic: Red Bull announced the agreement just before Verstappen’s home Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, scheduled for August 21–23. The 2026 edition will be the final Dutch Grand Prix on the current Formula One calendar.
It is worth noting that Verstappen has won four Drivers’ World Championships with Red Bull and has recorded 71 Grand Prix victories. He first raced for the team in 2016 and sensationally won on his Red Bull debut at the Spanish Grand Prix.
