It appears that FIFA may have overstepped its authority.
Details: According to The Touchline, the Norwegian Football Federation has filed an official complaint against FIFA and its president, Gianni Infantino.
Reports indicate that Norway's dissatisfaction stems from the presentation of the “FIFA Peace Award” to U.S. President Donald Trump, which took place during the 2025 World Cup draw.
In Norway, officials believe that FIFA has violated its commitment to political neutrality, directly contradicting the organization's own policies.
Previously, FIFA had already faced repeated criticism over its decision to host the 2026 World Cup in the United States—a move that has created numerous challenges for both fans and organizers alike.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 across three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This marks the first World Cup in history to be hosted by three nations, as well as the inaugural tournament to feature an expanded lineup of 48 national teams.
