Real Madrid is hosting Alavés in the 7th round of La Liga. Lucas Vázquez opened the scoring in the 1st minute.
This is his second-fastest goal (54 seconds) in his professional career. His personal record dates back to February 10, 2018, when he scored against Real Sociedad in the 48th second.
Interestingly, the last two goals scored by Real Madrid in the first minute of a La Liga match were also netted by Vázquez. Between his goals against Sociedad and Alavés, no other Real Madrid player has scored in the first minute of a match.
Real Madrid's start in La Liga has not been very convincing. In the first three rounds, Madrid drew twice, losing points against Mallorca and Las Palmas. After that, the team did not allow any more slip-ups, winning four matches in the next three rounds.
