What an outburst! Valencia star explodes during halftime interview against Real Madrid. VIDEO
Pablo Maffeo had absolutely no intention of hiding his frustration during Valencia's clash with Real Madrid.
Details: During halftime of Saturday's La Liga encounter at Mestalla, the Valencia defender stunned viewers with an explosive response to a DAZN reporter. His team were trailing Real Madrid 0-2, and the 29-year-old footballer was clearly furious with both the officiating and the requirement to give an interview in the middle of the match.
Maffeo did not mince his words, openly expressing his anger at the very idea of being interviewed during the break.
“I really don’t feel like doing this interview; I think it’s sh*t. This interview has no place here. We’re playing a game,” the defender snapped.
His frustration was not limited to the interview itself. Maffeo also criticized the referee, insisting that Valencia were being penalized for challenges that should not have been considered fouls. In particular, he disputed the decision that preceded Federico Valverde's opening goal.
Real Madrid eventually secured a convincing 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Valverde, Arda Güler and Kylian Mbappé. Valencia also finished the match with ten men following José Gayà's dismissal.
It's worth noting that Maffeo received a yellow card in the 26th minute and was subsequently substituted in the 63rd minute, with Arnau Martínez taking his place.
Reminder: Only Ronaldo is ahead! Mbappé scores for Real in his seventh straight match
