From absolute ecstasy to heartbreak in a matter of minutes. Argentine football has delivered an incredible story.

Details: On November 7, Rosario Central fans stormed the pitch at the Gigante de Arroyito stadium, convinced their team had won Argentina's 2026 annual league title. The players even joined the celebrations, but there was one enormous problem: Boca Juniors had not finished their match.

Rosario Central had done everything required of them, defeating Estudiantes de Río Cuarto 2-0. To claim the trophy, however, they also needed Boca Juniors to drop points against Defensa y Justicia. With the score still 0-0 deep into stoppage time in Buenos Aires, the title appeared to be heading to Rosario.

But in the 90+6th minute, Enner Valencia scored a sensational last-gasp winner for Boca, securing a 1-0 victory and completely changing the championship outcome.

Confusion spread through the Rosario Central stadium, where some supporters believed the result still favored their team. Fans invaded the field, embraced the players and celebrated what they thought was a second consecutive annual title. Only moments later did the truth become clear, turning wild celebrations into crushing disappointment.

It's worth noting that Boca Juniors finished top of the annual standings with 63 points, just one ahead of Rosario Central, who had won the same title in 2025.
