The Chiefs' management's ambition to land striker Fiston Mayele is on the verge of collapse.
Details: Recently, the Soccer Laduma portal reported that Nasreddine Nabi traveled to Egypt to negotiate with the Congolese forward—Fiston Mayele.
According to a source inside the Amakhosi camp, this deal has virtually no chance of success.
The main reason is that their key rival—Orlando Pirates—has offered the player a contract far more lucrative than what the Chiefs have put on the table.
The "Pirates" are persuading Mayele to sign a two-year contract reportedly worth around 3 million US dollars (approximately 53 million rand)—a figure far beyond what the Chiefs can match in the race for the striker.
The only glimmer of hope for the Amakhosi is that Fiston himself might want to reunite with Nasreddine Nabi, putting financial gain in second place. However, this scenario appears highly unlikely.
Reminder: Fiston Mayele is Kaizer Chiefs' top target! Where will the striker go?
