It is known why no security measures were taken at the Antwerp - Beerschot match

In the ninth round of the Belgian Pro League match between Antwerp and Beerschot, a true pyrotechnic display occurred, prompting the referees to halt the game.
Initially, it was planned that the match would resume the following day, without fans and from the moment it was stopped. However, Beerschot decided not to continue the match, which automatically resulted in a 5-0 defeat.
Lorin Paris, the CEO of Pro League, explained why no security measures were implemented at the match.
Details: In an interview with Sporza, he stated that there are gaps in the law enforcement system surrounding matches. As a result, Paris urged the new federal government to address this issue. One of the main problems is the limited authority of football clubs to conduct searches.
There are also issues with surveillance and the absence of biometric checks at stadium entrances.
Paris also clarified why they decided not to impose a complete ban on fans during the Antwerp derby. The Pro League CEO noted that they are dealing with a small group of hooligans, and ordinary fans should not suffer because of them.
