Is the Bull staying at Naturena? Kaizer Chiefs offer new contract to midfield leader

South African club Kaizer Chiefs have officially initiated the process of extending the contract of their key defensive midfielder, Sibongiseni Mthethwa.

Details: According to sports publication SoccerBeat, the Amakhosi hierarchy have offered the experienced midfielder, nicknamed the Bull, a one-plus-one contract. If negotiations are successfully concluded and the extension option is subsequently activated, the player will be guaranteed to remain at Naturena until June 2028.

The coaching staff at the Soweto-based club greatly value the midfielder’s fighting spirit, combative edge in duels and tactical discipline. The club’s chiefs believe that retaining their proven defensive shield will provide the necessary balance in the middle of the park ahead of the decisive battles in the domestic championship.

It is worth noting that Sibongiseni Mthethwa has played for Kaizer Chiefs since September 2023, following his transfer from Stellenbosch. He has established himself as one of the team’s most influential players and is regularly called up to the Bafana Bafana squad.
