Former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has launched a scathing attack on Max Verstappen, urging the FIA to impose disciplinary sanctions on the Dutch driver.
Details: According to Diario Sport, the Colombian is outraged by Verstappen's constant complaints about the new technical regulations, which Verstappen previously compared to “Formula E on steroids.”
Montoya believes that disrespectful remarks about the sport that provides your livelihood should have consequences, up to and including suspension from races.
Montoya suggested adding seven or eight penalty points to Verstappen's license to force him to change his rhetoric. The former driver emphasized that criticism should be constructive, and calling a Formula 1 car "Mario Kart" is unacceptable.
Verstappen himself remains defiant: even after the recent regulation changes in Miami, he stated that his negative opinion has not changed.
Reminder: Gasly's car flipped over after colliding with Lawson at the Miami Grand Prix.
