Tragic news has emerged in the National Hockey League, as a former player for Washington and the Winnipeg Jets has passed away.
Details: According to TSN, former NHL player Bill Riley has died at the age of 75. He was the third Black player in NHL history. Riley spent four seasons of his career with the Washington Capitals, before playing his final season with the Winnipeg Jets.
After retiring from professional hockey, Riley returned to the game in a coaching role during the 1989–1990 season.
We recently reported that former CHL and U Sports player Jacob Winterton passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was just 25 years old.
