Ex-Liverpool player Neil Ruddock shared how participating in Harry Redknapp's TV show Harry’s Heroes turned his life around, crediting it with saving his life, reports The Sun.

The show's goal was to help legendary English footballers from the 1990s regain their physical fitness by introducing proper training routines and a healthy diet.

For Ruddock, the experience was transformative, leading him to cut down on alcohol and junk food, lose weight, and address significant health issues.

"I did the Harry Heroes TV show. I was feeling dizzy. At the time there was a lot of talk about dementia in football, heading the ball. So I was going dizzy. So I thought, you know, ‘it’s dementia’. I went to see all the specialists and it was my heart, he said, ‘the way you’re going, you’ve got two months to live’," Ruddock revealed.

Thanks to the intervention and lifestyle changes prompted by the show, Ruddock was able to take control of his health and avoid a dire prognosis.

Neil Ruddock played 195 Premier League matches during his career, representing clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham, West Ham, Southampton, and Crystal Palace. He also earned a single cap for the England national team.
