Norway enjoyed an impressive run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and their star striker Erling Haaland made such a strong impression on football fans that many are now choosing to name their children after him.
Details: According to Pubity, Peru has become the world leader in the number of babies named after Erling Haaland.
More than 500 newborns have reportedly been given names inspired by the Norwegian forward. Of those, at least 468 have been named Haaland, while 91 have been given his full first and last name, Erling Haaland.
However, not everything has gone smoothly for the Norway international. Norway and Atlético striker Alexander Sørloth has come under a barrage of criticism following the 2026 World Cup quarterfinal against England.
Reminder: Norway's 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign came to an end with a 2-1 extra-time defeat to England in the quarter-finals, as Jude Bellingham scored twice to send the Three Lions through.
