According to journalist Danny Gallagher, the Reds are exploring a potential player swap, considering Wharton one of their top priorities to strengthen the midfield. In return, Crystal Palace could land Elliott, who is in need of more regular playing time.
While official negotiations have yet to begin, the swap idea is currently under discussion and could become one of the most high-profile deals of the English summer transfer window.
According to Transfermarkt, Harvey Elliott's transfer value is estimated at €20 million, while Wharton's valuation is significantly higher—€70 million.
