OFFICIAL: Manchester United announce signing of midfielder

Manchester United have continued their summer transfer business by completing the signing of a new midfielder during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Details: Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea. The Brazilian midfielder has signed a contract until June 2031, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by a further year.

According to previous reports, the transfer is worth a guaranteed £48 million, with an additional £2 million in performance-related bonuses.

Last season, Santos made 43 appearances for Chelsea and recorded the highest pass completion rate as well as the most progressive passes per 90 minutes among Premier League midfielders aged under 22.

Reminder: The English club have already activated the release clause in the contract of the Belgian midfielder from Aston Villa.
