The final round of the 2025 Eliteserien season took place on November 30 in Norway. Heading into the final matchday, only one point separated the two title contenders—Viking and Bodo/Glimt.
In reality, the title race lacked major drama. Bodo/Glimt cruised to a resounding victory, but it wasn’t enough to clinch a third consecutive championship. In the simultaneous fixture, Viking dismantled Valerenga 5-1, sealing their first Norwegian league title since the 1991 season. This historic triumph was made possible by a remarkable seven-match winning streak to close out the campaign.
It’s worth noting that this title marks the ninth in Viking’s storied history. The Stavanger side has booked a place in the play-off round of Champions League qualification for the 2026/27 season and is guaranteed at least a spot in the main stage of the Europa League. Remarkably, Viking hasn’t featured in the group stage of a European competition since 2005.
