FIFA has prepared another set of changes, this time affecting the rules governing contracts between football clubs and players.

Details: According to José Félix Díaz, clubs will now be required to include a release clause in every player's contract. Both players and clubs will have to agree on and specify a fixed buyout amount as part of the deal.

This requirement has long been in place in Spain, but it is now set to be introduced across all other leagues as well.

Meanwhile, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further amendments and new additions to the Laws of the Game have been introduced with the aim of reducing time-wasting.

Reminder: FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently addressed the high-profile controversy involving Somali referee Omar Artan, who was barred from entering the United States by American authorities over alleged links to terrorist organisations.
