In the fourth round of the Australian Open, Jannik Sinner faced Holger Rune, but the match had to be paused for a while.
Details: According to The Independent, a rather unusual incident occurred during the match. Sinner hit the net on his serve, and the ball accidentally struck a bolt holding the net in place.
At least half a dozen specialists worked to resolve the issue before the net was repaired, leading to a nearly 20-minute delay.
While the specialists addressed the problem, the players were sent to the locker room to avoid sitting in the heat. They were later given three minutes to warm up before Sinner resumed play with his serve.
Ultimately, Sinner defeated Rune 3-1 (6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2) and advanced to the Australian Open quarterfinals.
Reminder: Medvedev threw his racket again during the Australian Open and had a heated exchange with a fan in the stands.
