Algeria impress ahead of their World Cup opener
Vladimir Petković’s side have put in a fine defensive and attacking performance during their preparations.
The Desert Foxes have recorded some good results during their preparations for the World Cup, which kicks off this Thursday, 11 June. The Algerian national team have remained unbeaten in four international friendlies.
Petković’s side thrashed Guatemala (7-0), drew with Uruguay (0-0), beat the Netherlands (1-0) before thrashing Bolivia (4-0) on the night of Wednesday 10 to Thursday 11 June. These are encouraging results for the Algerian team, confirming the ambitions of Riyad Mahrez and his teammates on the world stage.
Algeria kick off their World Cup campaign against Argentina on 17 June in Group J. They will then face Jordan on 23 June and Austria on 28 June.
