Dybala close to a new contract with Roma, current deal includes an intriguing clause

Paulo Dybala, who was on the verge of leaving Roma in the summer, is now just nine games away from an automatic contract extension.
Details: According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Retesport, Dybala could extend his stay at the Stadio Olimpico even further. His current contract includes a clause for automatic renewal with the same salary if he plays a set percentage of games. Specifically, the Argentine must feature in 50% of the matches available to the team.
So far, Dybala has played in 93 out of 129 matches since joining Roma, which accounts for 53.5% of the games. If the season were to end today, his contract extension would already be triggered.
With 23 games remaining across Serie A, the Europa League, and the Coppa Italia, Dybala would need to appear in only nine more fixtures to automatically activate the clause.
Note: This season, the Argentine has made 16 appearances for Roma, scoring two goals.
Interestingly, in November, Claudio Ranieri returned to manage Roma for the third time in his career, becoming the club’s third head coach this season.
