Dani Alves has compensated the victim of a potential sexual assault

Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has paid compensation of 150,000 euros to the victim of a possible sexual assault, as reported by Cadena SER.

According to sources, Alves' defense stated that Dani has already paid 150,000 euros in compensation. If he is found guilty, the sentence is expected to be reduced to one year in prison. However, the court emphasized that after the damages have been compensated, the body that issued the sentence must determine whether to consider mitigating circumstances.

The decision noted that full satisfaction of the compensation amount does not necessarily entail considering mitigating circumstances, and that this matter should be evaluated individually in the context of the respondent's case. Additionally, financial compensation for sexual crimes may differ from compensation for property crimes, which may not stand in court.

Both the prosecution and the private prosecutor representing the victim's interests opposed Alves' release. The judge stated that there was a risk of flight, which increased as the judicial process approached its conclusion.
