Boca Set to Part Ways With Key Veterans After Club World Cup Exit

Following a disappointing early exit from the FIFA Club World Cup, Boca Juniors is preparing a major squad overhaul. According to TyC Sports, the club plans to release several experienced players during the upcoming transfer window in an effort to trim the roster and generate income.
Among the players expected to depart are Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Frank Fabra, Luis Advíncula, Rolón, Lema, Martegani, Miramón, Janson, and promising youngster Exequiel Zeballos. Head coach Miguel Ángel Russo appears ready to lead a reshaped team after failing to progress from the group stage in Nashville.
Despite securing $17.21 million through participation fees and two draws in the group phase, Boca missed out on an additional $7.5 million awarded to teams reaching the Round of 16. Without a single group-stage win, they also forfeited further match bonuses. The club now looks to recover both sporting ambition and financial momentum by clearing space for a new era.
