Beckham admitted why he had invited Messi to his club

David Beckham, the co-owner of Inter Miami, recalled how he had invited the Argentinean star, Lionel Messi, to his team.
It is reasonable to mention that the Argentine was recognized as the team's best player of Inter Miami at the end of the previous season.
"I still find it difficult to believe that such a great player as Messi plays in our team. He is perhaps the best footballer in the world. As the owner of the club, I am very proud of this fact.
We have always believed that Leo's move to the United States, particularly Miami, would be a gift for all of America and MLS. Players of his caliber change the game. They inspire a new generation of footballers. That's why we wanted to invite Leo to our team.
Of course, we strive to be the best team in the league. But the main purpose of his signing is to inspire the next generation of footballers in America. This aspect is very important for us,” Beckham said, as quoted by Goal.com.
In his first season with the American club, Messi played 14 matches, scored 11 goals and made five assists.
