The matchday 8 Champions League clash kicked off with a cold shower for Barcelona. By the 4th minute, Copenhagen striker Viktor Dadason had already found the back of the Catalans' net, silencing the Camp Nou crowd in shock. This goal etched the young Icelander’s name into European football history.
Details: At just 17 years and 212 days old, Viktor Dadason became the youngest player ever to score in a major European competition at Camp Nou. With this precise strike, he shattered a record that had stood for more than 65 years. The previous milestone belonged to Milan’s Paolo Ferrario, who scored at this iconic stadium in November 1959 at the age of 17 years and 269 days.
It’s worth noting that Dadason’s goal was the only one of the first half, sending the teams to the break with the score at 0-1.
