Third Time’s the Charm: Cocca Set to Take Over at Talleres

After years of near misses, Diego Cocca is finally on the verge of taking charge at Talleres. Per La Voz del Interior, the Argentine manager has agreed in principle to lead the Córdoba-based club, with only the signature pending to make it official.
Cocca's history with Córdoba football is long and winding. In 2012, he sat down with Instituto’s board in the club café but walked away without a deal. More recently, Belgrano considered him after parting ways with Juan Cruz Real, but Cocca opted instead for a stint in Spain with Real Valladolid. Now, seasoned by a title-winning run at Racing, a national team post in Mexico, and other stops along the way, he returns to Córdoba to rebuild a struggling Talleres.
Ironically, when Instituto picked Frank Kudelka over Cocca in 2012, it was Kudelka who would later make history—at Talleres. Cocca, meanwhile, launched a new chapter at Defensa y Justicia and never looked back.
This time, the opportunity and timing finally aligned. Cocca steps into barrio Jardín not just as a familiar face, but as a veteran ready to reshape the squad. For Talleres fans, his arrival marks the promise of a fresh beginning, guided by a coach who always seemed just a decision away.
