Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patrício has officially announced his departure from AS Roma.

On his Instagram page, the goalkeeper expressed his gratitude to Roma for the past three years, the matches, and the two European finals.

"Thank you, Roma, for these 3 years. 129 matches and 2 European finals.

I would like to thank the Board of Directors, the players, the coaches, the medical team, the kit men, the cooks, the security guards, the press office staff, and everyone I worked with over these years.

A special thanks and a big hug to all the fans who supported me on this unforgettable journey.

Thus, my story in Rome comes to an end, leaving behind many professional and personal memories. I wish you all the best and hope you continue to win many more tournaments with the same passion and determination that defined us until now. Again and always. Forza Roma," Patrício wrote on Instagram.

Rui had been with the Roman team since July 2021, following his transfer from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers for €11.8 million. With Roma, he won the UEFA Europa Conference League in the 2021/22 season and played in the UEFA Europa League final in the 2022/23 season.

Additionally, Roma has extended the contract of their head coach, Daniele De Rossi, until June 2027.
