On the night of July 2-3, the group stage of Copa America 2024 concluded, with the final matches played by Group D teams.

In the day’s marquee match, determining the group winner, Brazil and Colombia drew 1-1.

Brazil took the lead in the 12th minute when Barcelona's winger Raphinha scored a stunning direct free kick. After this, Colombia took control of the game and appeared significantly more threatening in attack than the five-time world champions.

Finally, in the dying moments of the first half, defender Daniel Muñoz equalized with a strike right under the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area.

As a result, Colombia finished first in the group with 7 points. Brazil advances to the quarterfinals from the second position.
