The IOC refused to recognise the International Boxing Association

The International Olympic Committee has removed the International Boxing Association (IBA) from the list of recognised federations.
The decision was taken at the IOC session in Paris, and it was adopted unanimously. It will be recalled that the IOC and IBA problems arose in 2019, when under the previous leadership of the federation in 2019, the IBA had difficulties with management, finances and refereeing.
In 2020, Russian Umar Kremelyov became the head of the IBA, but that didn't help the federation find credibility in the eyes of the International Olympic Committee. Last summer, the IBA was expelled from the IOC membership altogether, a decision that was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
The latest conflict between the IBA and the IOC arose over the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to competitions under the auspices of the federation under the flags of their countries, which does not comply with the IOC recommendations.
As a result, in May, the IOC banned athletes from the federations - members of the IBA at the Olympics in 2028. Also now it is the IOC that organises qualifying tournaments for the Olympics and the Olympic tournament itself.
