Juventus Push to Sign Ivorian Midfielder Franck Kessie as Roma Join Race

Juventus have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie as they look to complete the deal as soon as possible.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are now pushing to secure Kessie’s signature and do not believe they need to sell any players before moving ahead with the transfer.

The Turin giants are keen to take advantage of the groundwork already done in negotiations with the midfielder, having spent several weeks working on Kessie as one of their priority targets.

However, Juventus could face competition from Serie A rivals Roma, who have also shown interest in the former AC Milan and Atalanta midfielder. Reports suggest that Roma held talks with Kessie’s representatives at the beginning of the week, adding further uncertainty to the midfielder’s future.

Kessie had previously turned down a lucrative contract offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. The club reportedly offered him a three-year deal worth almost €10 million net per season in an attempt to convince him to remain in Saudi Arabia.
