The Edmonton Oilers announced on their social media page (formerly Twitter) that the head coach of the team, Jay Woodcroft, has been relieved of his duties.

It's worth noting that the Oilers, currently in 15th place in the Western Conference standings, secured a victory against the Seattle Kraken with a score of 4-1 in today's game. The next match for the Oilers is scheduled at home against the New York Islanders on November 14th at 2:30 Central European Time.

The team will be prepared for this match by the interim head coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack, Chris Knoblauch, with assistance from Paul Coffey.
