This weekend, the Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix is taking place in Brazil.

On Saturday, November 8, the sprint race at the Interlagos circuit got underway, but was brought to a halt by red flags as early as lap 8. In Turn 3, three drivers lost control and, after running off the track, slammed into the barriers. Among them were Nico Hülkenberg, Franco Colapinto, and one of the championship frontrunners, Oscar Piastri.

The McLaren driver will not be able to continue the race, missing out on the chance to score crucial points. Franco Colapinto is also out, while Hülkenberg will return to the track after his team replaces several components on his car.

It’s worth noting that the race will resume with a standing start, rather than behind the safety car.
